EFF CIC JULIUS MALEMA REQUESTS PLACES OF LAND OCCUPATION STRUGGLES NOT TO BE NAMED AFTER HIM – EFF

EFFThe Commander in Chief of the Economic Freedom Fighters, fighter Julius Sello Malema humbly requests that revolutionaries engaged in land occupation struggles not to name the new neighbourhood after his name. The CIC is in full support of the struggles of the people as it is the policy of the EFF and celebrates the bravery and determination of the homeless to engage in practical struggle to reclaim South Africa as their home.

The CIC is however requesting that fighters and all revolutionaries must not name the new places of settlement after him as it will inculcate the undesirable culture of personality cult. The CIC had initially communicated to the fighters of the regions concerned when reports came out that they had named a settlement after him, and made requests for such not to be done. He argued that the naming of places must always be done using names of those who are very old and retired or who have passed away. This is because many highly active revolutionaries are subject to make mistakes, and if these mistakes are grave, then the named neighbourhoods remain with a name forever.

The CIC requests that although humbled by the activity, revolutionaries must indeed desist from using his name as he still has a long way as a revolutionary himself to travel. Above all, the revolution must try at all times to make sure that it does not encourage or provide platforms for personalty cults to emerge. Nevertheless, the struggle for land through land occupation by the poor and homeless must continue and intensify till no one is without land.
