SANDU supports any call for mass action and any other lawful means to remove President Zuma from office – THE SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONAL DEFENCE UNION

DefenceMEDIA STATEMENT BY THE SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONAL DEFENCE UNION (SANDU) IN REACTION TO THE 31 MARCH 2016 RULING BY THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT REGARDING VIOLATION OF THE SA CONSTITUTION BY PRESIDENT ZUMA AND PARLIAMENT

SANDU has taken note of the finding by the Constitutional Court inter alia judging President Zuma and the parliament of SA as being in violation of their constitutional duties in the Nkandla matter.
It is in SANDU’s opinion absolutely despicable that the President, as Commander in Chief of the SANDF, has transgressed the very Constitution which the Defence Force over which he holds command, is constitutionally charged with upholding.
It is equally rejectionable that parliament, which is charged with overseeing that the SANDF upholds the Constitution, has aided and abetted the President in this unlawful deed which represents a complete sell out of the values of a constitutional democracy.
Given the ruling made, the President can no longer be considered a fit and proper person to remain the Commander in Chief of the SANDF, nor can any of the parliamentary members who so stubbornly protected him in his questionable endevours against the Public Protector’s findings, be considered fit and proper persons to hold office as members of parliament.
Any reliance on the excuse of so called bad legal advice is without any credibility especially as the same people who in the Nkandla matter accepted the bad advice that the PP findings are non- binding, in many other matters implemented the PP’s findings as if bounded thereby. These are also the same people, who, for 2 years were told publicly by various legal experts that their advice and stance was unlawful and wrong in law in the Nkandla matter and then went even further to back a embarresingly false and fraudulent report.
How can those with unconstitutional dirt on their hands be expected to further oversee and or command the SANDF with integrity or any inkling of moral standing?
SANDU, in the circumstances, calls on the Commander in Chief to be removed from his post and the parliamentary members to resign. SANDU supports any call for mass action and any other lawful means to remove President Zuma from office. This is not a political stance, but a moral and constitutional stance in support of our constitutional democratic values of the rule of law.
SANDU encourages all members of society, including soldiers to participate in their private capacity and time in any lawful mass action campaigns which might be called to the end of lawfully recalling and or removing President Zuma from office.

JG GREEFF
NATIONAL SECRETARY : SANDU

well he did take an oath to uphold & protect the constitution…which he clearly did not!
he is no ordinary citizen like you nay be. He holds a responsibilty which he has failed to honour. Thats the difference !!

    • any action to remove the president should be inside the law like the mr zuma and mr malema then stil anc yl president swore he would die for the anc and the president and then put zuma in a frostbitten backstaning position that they had to get rid of him so a recall by cabinet and nec can fire zuma the army stay neutral unless state security is at risk

Therefore the SANDU /F should congregate in the masses alongside the public in a countrywide March to parliaments to insist on there immediate removals. Full media coverage countrywide inertnationnaly broadcasted SADF members in full uniform . Lol if only our people had the ability to act in such a manner orderly and diciplined and firm. We could go far ,funny thing is as much as this goverment aims to keep us devided with its racial discrimination legislation throughout the board from sports, businesses, employment, job creation, selective empowerment ect ect IT’S GOING to take us as a equality United ONE working and standing together for the good of our country

are we expecting a coup d’etat in South Africa now? Watch Zuma institute a state of emergency instead of resigning. Zumamustfall is a very real campaign and the sooner the better to create stability. Those around and supporting him must fall too. Zero respect for the likes of Gwede either. They are all embroiled in unsavoury business and scandal. Your publicity machines are running out of steam. Are there any decent leaders left in the ANC that are not corrupt and worthy of the leadership? Please not a Zuma ex wife either!!! Someone who is not militant and more apt at concentrating on our economy to uplift this country out of junk status. Entrepreneurship and job creation for all.

And this is why we advised against legalising SANDU. This is treason, and it should be treated as such. Arrest SANDU rebels now to save us unnecessary blood bath. Lest we fogert these are the very same rebels that once invaded the Union Buildings. Arrest, charge, trial, and throw the keys away.

  10. All of you must remember that this is the hand work of the western countries trying so hard to protect their selfish agenda of always going around the world causing conflicts so that they rush in and want to protect the”citizens” by sending soldiers using the European union flag. This is exactly what they did to president gadaffi. The western countries are bulldozing everyone and what is shameful is that the south African are too busy fighting each other instead of focusing. On the bigger picture.

Those who commented supporting Zuma and critisizing SANDU are defenately ones SANDU refers to in the article. Typical cANCer members trying to reengineer all insitutitions to complement their rubish, beneficiaries of immoral deeds of JZ. JZ if he refuse to resign he will be dragged out of that position, he can escape 700 charges but this will be the number 701 that he does not escape. IS TIME.

Well said Sandu, in my own personal capacity I couldn’t agree more. No one single person is with out fault, but for love of *. Current Leadership or your beautiful SA has “made promises” (now I’m just making a generalisation) but repeatedly proved how good they are at abuse of state powers. I know not what future holds, but yoiu can be dame sure, SA will be better off with government that believes in selfless caring for its people and prosperity. ” not how can I abuse state tax payers “
