Business Leadership South Africa CEO Bonang Mohale says President Jacob Zuma is holding the country back from economic progress.
Speaking at the Lead SA Changemakers Conference in Johannesburg, he says the country’s sluggish GDP growth makes it difficult for new graduates to find jobs.
Mohale is placing the blame at Zuma’s door.
“Not only is he hopeless, he’s corrupt and rotten to the core because from day one his only obsession was never to find people from the black pool of excellence but to do everything possible to say how can I stay out of jail. How can you run a country like that?”
Rating agencies downgraded South Africa to junk status the week after Zuma fired his finance minister and reshuffled his Cabinet.
