ANC Limpopo and Gauteng unite – ANC

ANCANC GAUTENG AND LIMPOPO PROVINCIAL WORKING COMMITTEES AGREE TO DEFEND THE UNITY OF THE ORGANISATION AND RESTORE ITS PRINCIPLES AND VALUES

ANC PWCs of Limpopo and Gauteng met as part of continued efforts to defend the unity and cohesion of the organisation and the restoration of its principles and values. This task cannot be left to Conferences, but must be continuously done to regain the confidence of the people. This was the unanimous view of the bilateral meeting held on Monday, 28th August 2017 in Johannesburg. The meeting was characterised by frank, robust and comradely discussions.

The meeting acknowledged the challenges facing the organisation both internally and as a leader of society and committed to work towards closing the social distance between the organisation and the people. The meeting agreed that as part of preparing for the 54th ANC National Conference, there should be joint discussions to reach consensus on policy proposals from the 5th ANC National Policy Conference.

The meeting noted the Stats SA report on poverty, which indicated Limpopo as amongst the poorest provinces. It was also noted that Limpopo has registered significant improvements in its governance from its period of Section 100 (Constitution) administration. The meeting agreed that as the two provinces are linked socially, culturally and economically, the provincial governments must strengthen their bilateral cooperation to effectively deal with unemployment, poverty, infrastructure, economic development and governance.

The meeting reasserted ANC principles of non-racialism, non-sexism, unity, democracy and prosperity and the task of the National Democratic Revolution to build a National `Democratic society.

The meeting agreed to continue engaging bilaterally on the issue of ANC leadership to minimise unhealthy contestations.

The meeting reiterated the ANC NEC resolution to speedily establish a Judicial Commission of Enquiry on the State of capture report by the Public Protector.
