STATEMENT OF THE NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE ON NORTH-WEST
The African National Congres (ANC) National Executive Committee deliberated on the issue of the North-West and the court judgements and appeals affecting the provincial structures in the Province.
The NEC reiterated the injunction of the ANCs 54th National Conference, that the movement at all levels must strive towards resolving problems speedily, to use organisational processes to deal with problems and to use the legal route as a last resort.
The NEC appointed Rapid Response Team, consisting of Deputy Secretary-General, Jessie Duarte, and NEC members Sdumo Dlamini and Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, who were tasked with working to unite ANC provincial leaders who form part of the PEC and PTT, and to work with them on a political solution that undermines any need for further court action.
Seventy-eight days before the national and provincial elections, all ANC leaders and members in the North-West must focus all their energies into the elections campaign, reaching out to voters in towns, villages, farms and mining areas. The ANC is convinced that its process of building unity with the PEC and PTT will result in a resounding victory in the coming elections.
The NEC also urged the Provincial and local government led by the ANC to redouble efforts to provide quality services in the Province.
