Cope president Mosiuoa Lekota accused you of condemning him and others to the apartheid regime, are you condemning your daughter (Caster Semenya) to the most uncivilised human beings in the world? You have hardly protected her or said anything.
An Open letter to the President of the Republic of South Africa
Dear Mr. President,
Mother Teresa once said, “Never be so busy as not to think
Mr. President you have been busy since been appointed as
President of the country. You have been attending to issues of national
interest, issues relating to the economy of our country.
You have been consumed by your preparation of state of the
nation address, the budget and maybe preparation for the 2019 national and
Mr. President you have forgotten about your daughter.
I know Mr. President that you want to be the hero of our
democratic dispensation, you want to make a mark, you are looking at the big
picture. What you forget is that it is things that seem small that matter, the
simple act of caring is heroic.
Mr. President we rise by lifting others.
Cope president Mosiuoa Lekota accused you of condemning him
and others to the apartheid regime, are you condemning your daughter to the
most uncivilised human beings in the world?
You have delegated the protection of the daughter of the
soil Caster Semenya to your minister of sport. You have abandoned your most
loved daughter at a time when vultures are surrounding her, and you can’t even
hear her crying for you.
Mr. President, I want to advise you that, you are an
activist before you are the President of the country. I also want to advice you
that, the issue Caster Semenya is facing is not a sporting issue, it is a human
rights issue. Yourself as the first citizen of the country should take the lead
in defence of Caster Semenya, don’t only throw money at her.
greatest gift you can give is your time. Not money, not items, not food,
not pretty cards with handwritten sentiment, but time. People need your
presence. The way you can help a soul the most is to simply be there.
How do you keep so quite when one of us is out there in the
World being treated like she is not worthy of life and living?
How do you sleep at night?
How do you expect the world to take Caster Semenya’s issue
seriously when you as her President don’t seem to care? You have relegated a
Global human rights issue to a sporting ministry, why do you obscure your
daughter’s pain? What kind of a father are you?
How do you expect South Africans to take you seriously when
you have neglected their most loved daughter?
Mr. President, you like quoting Nelson Mandela, you like
portraying yourself as a leader who is carrying Mandela’s values. I have news
for you, Nelson Mandela would by now have repeatedly spoken personally against
Caster Semenya’s human rights violations. Nelson Mandela would probably have
gone to Caster Semenya’s court hearing, but not you.
You should be rallying the world behind Caster Semenya. You
should be the leading light in giving her hope, making her road a little
How do you expect South Africans to vote for you in the
coming elections when it is clear that you don’t care?
